Failed data column order.
Hi Gurus,
In Failed Data window,the columns are getting displayed in ascending order. How can we display the columns in same order as that in view?

Job failure
Hi Experts,
I am not able to run the BOIS column profiling job whenever I am selecting the Median and distribution option but without selecting this i am able to run simple profiling job.
I am getting below error
java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method java.lang.String.indexOf(java.lang.String) of an object loaded from local variable 'msg'

Unexpected Problem Occurred While Decoding JSF Component {0} BO 4.1 SP2
We are encountering the error pictured when trying to open the Information Steward Data Governance project or Match Review Configuration from the CMC.
This started happening after we restarted our InfoSteward servers. Does anybody know what could be causing the error and what we can do to fix it?
Our Information Steward Version is 14.2.1.220 and our Business Objects version is 4.1 SP2.

Import ECC table error: RFC TABLE_IMPORT error
Hello,
I was able to successfully setup a connection to ECC system in CMC and when I attempt to import a table IS (example: LFA1), I am getting the following error
RFC CallReceive Error <Function /BODS/TABLE_IMPORT: RFC_ABAP_MESSAGE, you are not authorized to perform this activity [SAP NWRFC 720] [SAP Partner 702]
The Data Services specific function modules and auth objects are already imported into ECC (SAP note: 1919255 / 1916294) and we can successfully import tables and view data connecting to Dev ECC box and the error occurs when we attempt to connect to QA ECC box. The basis and security teams confirmed that the user has exactly same roles between Dev and QA.
We are using the latest version of IS (4.2 )
Any help in debugging this issue is greatly appreciated.

Information steward and login to BW
So, we are using SAP IS, BODS and Teradata as main DWH. In order to see full life cycle of data i suggested to use metadata part of IS. Since we are using OpeHub and extractors, therefore I do believe that there is no need to use a lot of things from BW, such as infocubes, infoobjects etc. I successfully have estabished connection to SAP BW, but when I execute integrator then it fails with error "No RFC authorization for function module XXXXXXXXXX", which I assume is being used somewhere. So, then the only opytion is to provide this RFC connection for function module?
Also, is there a way how to limit IS integrator to index only OpenHub and Extractors, at the moment it seems that IS is indexing everything...

Getting Hard stop error message while adding table to Data Insite Project - could not be added. (DPR-10135)

I Just following the SAP Provided Tutorial.
I was able to browse SAP table using Connection established using CMC.
And i am trying to create table in SQL server 2008 database which already register as Data Profiling Database connection
I am getting following message. I looked SAP Note 1843081 but i don't understand what resolution SAP provided
Can anybody help me in resolving this issue

Metapedia Import and Export
When doing a new data dictionary you usually use spreadsheets and the like. Once completed and consolidated into one spreadsheet you want to then load it into Metapedia.
I have created custom columns on metapedia to match the spreadsheet columns, and when exporting the custome attributes are exported as well.
The problem is that the metapedia only imports the standard columns (NAME, CATEGORIES, DESCRIPTION, KEYWORDS, SYNONYMS, AUTHOR, STATUS, RELATED TERMS) all other columns are ignored.
Does anyone know of a way to import the custom attributes?

Error "Encountered an error while exporting the data. View the lof file (DPR-10126)
Hello,
I would like to have sugestions and help to solve a problem in IS 4.2.
I've created a view from two tables, joined together with the key from each one.
Then i've binded the rule with the view (mentioned above) created and calculated score for it.
The calculation is successful, however when i try to export all failed data i have the following error:
"Encountered an error while exporting the data. View the lof file (DPR-10126)"
When exporting failed data from calculations made directly to the datasources i do not encounter any problem, but when i try to export all data to CSV file (not only the 500 results limit) i have this kind of error.
However, when i visualize the data from the view created, it is also possible to export to csv file.
Resuming, the error occurs only when exporting all failed data from the view.
Can anyone help with this issue?

Showing only Approved Metapedia Terms
This question is two fold:
1) Is there a way to only show approved metapedia terms?
2) How have others managed their metapedia terms in a "multi-tier" environment (dev / qa / prod)? Do you promote your terms / changes through different environments or do you manage your terms in one environment? What is SAPs suggested best practice here?
I'm trying to achieve the scenario where metapedia users only see approved terms. Right now we are controlling this through drafting the terms in one environment and then exporting / importing them into another environment as approved.

Information Steward regards a View as a DB connection
Hello Experts,
I have found an issue where when I create a view, Information Steward categorizes it as a database connection. I have re-imported a project and have re-created views, but it still happens.
Has any one encountered this issue?
I am using Information Steward 4.1 (14.1.1.220).

Information Steward 4.2.1 not installing Data Cleansing Advisor (DCA) database
Our situation is as follows:
We have a SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 Sp3 system on Windows Server 2012.
We are installing the following components onto a separate, new Microsoft Windows Server 2012 platform (in this order):
- Information Platform Services (IPS) 4.1 Sp3
- Data Services 4.2 Sp1 Patch 3
- BusinessObjects BI 4.1 Sp3 Client Tools (for the BOE Metadata Integrator)
- Information Steward 4.2 Sp1 Patch 3
We verified the cross compatibility between IPS, DS and IS with SAP Note 1740516.
SAP Note 1740516, as referenced in the PAM, lists the following: "BI 4.1 SP3 was officially certified with DS/IS 4.2 SP1 Patch 3".
Our repository databases are located onto a separate Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise instance and the domain "DS/IS" service account under which IPS, DS and IS are installed, and will operate the Tomcat, DS and SIA services, has full access to these databases.
All required repository databases, including the IS repository, were created at forehand.
IPS and Data Services install fine without any problems. IS also installs fine, without the "Addnode" or Metadata Integrator installation issues that I have seen with previous versions. There were no errors of any kind.
The "Information Steward" and "Data Services" nodes are available in the IPS CMC and can be accessed.
However - the EIM APS is shown as "Running with errors"!
Trouble shooting the EIM APS reveals that the Data Cleansing Advisor (DCA) Service is the culprit.
Selecting the properties of the EIM APS also shows that the DCA Service could not be started and is marked in red. All other entries seem fine.
Once the DCA Server is removed from the EIM APS, the EIM APS will return to a green "Running" status.
This seems to indicate that the DCA Service is faulty. Checking the ..\BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\DCA-SA\Data directory shows further evidence of this issue, as this directory is EMTPY. The expected DCA database file and the DCA log files are not there!
We have tried a number of things:
1. Removing the DCA service from the EIM APS, restarting the SIA/IPS, adding the DCA service to the EIM APS again.
2. Uninstalling IS 4.2 Sp1 Patch 3, rebooting the server and repeating the installation again.
2. Uninstalling IS 4.2 Sp1 Patch 3, rebooting the server and repeating the installation with IS 4.2 Sp1 Patch 0 (GA release)
3. Upgrading the IS 4.2 Sp1 Patch 0 (GA release) with the IS 4.2 Sp1 Patch 3 version.
None of these have made any difference whatsoever.

Unfortunately, the listed solution of reinstalling has clearly not worked for us.
Has anybody seen this problem before? Any ideas what else we can do to resolve this issue? Our next port of call is opening a SAP support call but we really want to get IS up and running ASAP - so any suggestions would be most welcome!

Selecting distinct records from a view
Hi All,
I am wondering how IS does not provide a distinct option when we create a view. Also, it restrict to keep all fields as output column whatever you are using in the joining. Do you know how to take distinct records in data insight without using group by as this is really expensive?
