I am facing issue while installing IS 4.1 on my local machine. Not sure what is causing this issue. Kindly have a look and see if anyone of you have come across such issue before and have solution for it. Appreciate any help.

I have am getting an error when I am trying to view data from a view that was created on top of a Oracle 11g database table. The IS version I am using is 4.1. (14.1.1.220)

I have confirmed that the Data Services job that load the data into the DB target table works with no issues. I am also able to view the DB table data, with that fields in it, with no issues.
As part of my solution I have tried to delete and re-create that view, however that brought up the same error message. I noticed that when I remove the field and then view the data from the view I can see the data, but when I add it back I get the same error message above.

Is it possible to integrate SAP information Steward with MS Sharepoint?
For example: I have a form in sharepoint and I need export the data from this form to SAP information Steward to compare the data entered in SAP with the form.
I've created a view and filtered it to produce a single row result.

The AEDAT field is a nvarchar(8) at database source (HANA), and a varchar(8) in the Info Steward View Output Schema.
Now, I need to change this value to a date type, so I did this in the field mapping:
to_date(Views.Shipment_Header_TOTAL.AEDAT_Last_Changed_on, 'yyyymmdd')
That validates perfectly, but when I preview data, everything falls apart.
The error message is jibberish to me, and I cannot see any meaningful clues.
Can anyone shed some light on what's occurring ?

I created a view with the following mappings in in the output schema:
Column 1 : "VENDOR_BANKING".BANKN_Bank_Account_Number
Column2 : substr("VENDOR_BANKING".BVTYP_Partner_Bank_Type, 1, 3)
Column 3 : Count("VENDOR_BANKING".BANKN_Bank_Account_Number)
To enable the aggregation of C3, I obviously want to GROUP BY the first 2 columns.
However, in the Group By tab, there are only 2 options:
> Propose Columns
> Remove
"Propose" adds in all non aggregation columns, but ignores my custom mapping.
So where above, I have selected a SUBSTR of field BVTYP, the Propose action actually adds in :
"VENDOR_BANKING".BVTYP_Partner_Bank_Type
.
i.e. the Entire column, with no substring.
For the life of me, I cannot see an option to manually edit this mapping !?
Obviously this will produce incorrect output .... can anyone advise if I'm missing something here ?
or is a bug ?

I am trying to promote a project from our Dev instance to QA but when I do 9 of the 30 Views are skipped with an XML error. I am aware of the known issue with the project name in the xml and have opened the files to remove that. The import of the project runs successfuly but it skips views causing downstream rules and bindings to fail when it doesn't find the view it is referencing. I have checked the xml tags in the files and they are all well form and I don't see any formatting that is different than files that uploaded successfully.
Below is the exact error msg I am seeing in the log file:

I'm trying to use a lookahead operator (?=) in match_regex() to determine if a string has any one of a set of characters in any place but it doesn't appear to be matching. As a workaround I am using IF match(.*a*.) OR match(.*b.*) OR ...
Are the lookahead ?= and lookbehind ?<= operators supported?

from what I've read one cannot use the normal Export/Inport mechanism in SAP IS.
I'm having the error:
with the log:
"Starting import process at: 2/3/15 4:23 PM
while trying to invoke the method java.lang.String.length() of a null object loaded from local variable 's'
Error retrieving project information. Canceling import. (UIM-10185)"
I've also tried Promotional Manager to promote the full Data Insight Project from DEV machine to PROD machine, to no avail.
Is there any possible way to move the Views?
They are important in this case because the costumer has done them like this and now we need to migrate the project to PROD.
We are running SAP Information Steward 14.2.3

Hi All,
I have a question about HR data coming from SAP and how to restrict it to our other projects. We have multiple projects set up in Data Insight that will use SAP as a connection. The users are pulling in tables applicable to their area, but they have the ability to pull the HR tables into their projects as well. We already have an HR specific project set up and adjusted the security.
We will run into this issue with Finance data that should be restricted as well. Any suggestions or advice on how to address restricting the data when using an SAP connection? I am new to Information Steward and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have 100+ business rules to be approved in Information Steward. The number is huge. Is there anyway I can approve all of them in one single go? Otherwise, I will have to open each rule in the Rule Editor and approve it manually. Any sdk script or anything that can be of any help to me?

I have found an issue where when I create a view, Information Steward categorizes it as a database connection. I have re-imported a project and have re-created views, but it still happens.
Has any one encountered this issue?
I am using Information Steward 4.1 (14.1.1.220).

We were having problems in modifying connections for Information Steward, as only the access details can be modified through the Central Management Console. If the technical architecture of an ongoing project changes, whether a new database will be used for profiling errors, or a new mirror database will be provided as source systems, the connection details can't be simply modified. A new connection has to be created, affecting all of the existing views dependent on the connection. Changing all the views, validation rules, and binding of rules is very time consuming, especially if the trigger was only a change in database connection.
As a workaround, we had to search the appropriate backend table in the repository system, and directly modify the connection path or name. This only works if the user has access to the database of the repository system, and it doesn't seem like a good practice as well.
Is there any better solution to this issue? Will the next version of Information Steward cater for this limitation?
